Eric Chapman has been awarded the YSAYE Medallion by the Belgian Government for contributions to music and Distinguished Service Awards from the American Viola Society and the Violin Society of America. he is the first Western Technical Adviser invited to China by the Chinese Government. Eric is also the past President of the Violin Society of America 1975 - 1982, the Director of five International Violin Making Competitions, and a Contributing Editor of the Journal of the American Viola Society.
